Looking for work takes longer and is harder, says survey
The total time needed to find a new job has risen by a quarter, a new survey has found.
Randstad, the specialist recruitment company, asked 2,000 jobseekers about their hunt for work, and found:
• The interview process for a new job has increased by 1.5 hours
• The number of roles requiring aptitude or technical testing has doubled to 29%
• Employers now take 5 weeks and 6 days to fill a job, up from 3 weeks and 4 days five years ago
• Interviewees relying on internet to prepare take twice as long to secure a role compared to five years ago
