We know the work situation is pretty bad in a lot of areas of the UK, but there are some bright spots.
This week's jobs board includes opportunities in retail, sales, delivery, driving, warehouse, catering and leisure as well as others.
Full and part time work is available, and there are jobs up to management grades, so why not click on the links below to find out more:
Morrisons Local - the corner shop brand of the supermarket giant needs 1,200 people, including managers and assistant managers, team leaders and team members. The shops are open early until late so applicants should be willing to work flexibly. New outlets are opening in Paignton in Devon, Oxford, Littlehampton in Sussex, Chard in Somerset and Edinburgh and each store needs around 20 staff.
Phones4U - the high street phone retailer needs 900 staff to work part time across the country over the coming months, and has 230 vacancies available now. Hours can range from 20 to as few as 7.5 and are likely to suit those with other responsibilities, including carers, parents and students. Phones4U says that even part time staff are given career development opportunities.
DHL - the logistics and delivery firm needs 70 staff in Bristol and Hatfield, Hertfordshire, including HGV drivers class 1 and 2, transport planners and managers, buyers, order distributors, team leaders and warehouse operatives. Its warehouse people need forklift licences and mechanical handling equipment experience.
Thistle Hotels - the hotel chain has opportunities in big cities and airports for all grades of staff, including kitchen and chef, bar and food staff, permanent and casual room staff, luggage porters, receptionists, and concierges who greet guests and help them enjoy their stay. The company also needs maintenance operatives who keep the hotels' mechanics ticking over and in good condition.
