Work Programme providers do not receive enough money to deliver vital support to their unemployed clients, a report has found.

The Work Programme is not financially viable for the majority of charities, according to the excellent article below. The Guardian has found that seven out of every 10 charities that deliver Work Programme activities may have to pull out because they cannot afford to continue. The major issue is that most of the money received under their contracts is paid up to a year after they have provided their services. In the current climate of cuts to public funding many charities no longer have other money to fall back on, and it is only surprising that more are not struggling already.
